The Tinder Swindler



Just like predators follow prey, grifters go to Tinder because that is where the marks are. It is an interesting character study. I do not support the grifter Simon Leviev (his real name is Shimon Hayut) in this docu-drama (he was a skilled manipulator and con man), but his victims really brought this on themselves too. Like most cons, the grifter plays off the mark's greed. I did not feel sympathetic for them (sort of like guys who start showering strippers with gifts and money--it is probably not going to end well), and why are people contributing to them?
