I guess those straw polls were premature, recent polling shows Trump is by far the front runner for the GOP nomination in 2024. That is not surprising. I still like DeSantis (a lot). So far he has been a smart politician. We will see how he walks the line of not betraying Trump, yet being his own man. I have reasonably high hope for that. I suspect if Trump does in fact run for the 2024 election, DeSantis will end up being his running mate.
