Winnie the Pooh goes to China πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³

Asia One: Oh Bother! Lots of love between Japan's PM and President Xi

President Xi should have ignored this whole Winnie the Pooh thing. Fighting it makes it worse. Hong Kong is a huge money maker for the ChiComs and it is counter productive to clamp down there. So why are they doing it?

Because things could change rapidly in China and Xi knows it. We saw how fast the Soviet Empire disappeared. China could have a political meltdown like that too. Unfortunately--I have a feeling any change in China will be with far more political turmoil and violence than what we saw in the Soviet block.

President Trump is wise to press on for an equitable trade deal for the USA and China. As for the chorus claiming tariffs are bad--sure tariffs are bad. I agree. If you use tariffs as a negotiation point to get favorable trade terms--tariffs could be good.

It may not work. But going the route we have been for the last 30 years is not working either. Now we have the Chinese censoring basketball games in the USA? That is insane.
