Richard III falls at Battle of Bosworth Field: August 22, 1485

Richard III falls to the Tudor forces at the Battle of Bosworth Field ending the War of the RosesBecareful about civil wars, they tend to be brutal and drawn out. Still, we got a decent play out of it.

  1. The last monarch of England to die while leading a battle. The play itself is a political hit job written during the reign of Elizabeth I, demonizing the rival of her grandfather whose sole claim to the throne is the right by conquest.

    1. True. Richard III was a complex historical figure though.
