Ryan Herds Republican Cats, Gets Tax Reform Passed in House


It is not surprising Republicans in those high tax states like California, New Jersey and New York would be opposed to tax reform that removes the deduction for state income tax. It is still a smart move for President Trump and Republicans to push it. Hence the cat herding involved.

There was also opposition by fiscal conservatives, who wanted the budget to balance. They have a legitimate point, but given the circumstances, this is what it is. While far from perfect, it is a very important step for Donald Trump and the GOP.
