My prayers and condolences to the injured and families of those killed. This was a premeditated act and then the shooter, reportedly James Holmes 24, fled (but was captured shortly thereafter). His mother, when she was contacted about the shooting, was not surprised.
I would agree speculation on motive is not helpful at this point But it does appear to be a lone gunman acting on his own motivations.
Mayor Bloomberg of course cannot help himself on politicizing this.
Update: As for those MSM a-holes who suggested this was the fault of the Tea Party,
