Jihadi Terror Alert in South Sinai

Sharm el Sheikh is a major scuba diving destination
South Sinai on high alert due to intelligence of planned jihadist attack on Egyptian police.  Given past attacks in the backpacker village just north of Dahab and infiltration from Hamas to the north and the Arabian penninsula to the south and west (it is a short boat ride away) there is reason for alarm.  Traditionally the local Bedouins in Sinai were more antagonistic to the "valley river people" of Cairo and the Nile Delta and Palestinian refuges in El Arish than Israel (the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and the Israelis were generous to Bedouins in Sinai).  Even with the Morsi/Muslim Brotherhood government now running Egypt this is still a problem.
