Annoying Social Justice Warriors and Cultural Appropriation Rule 5

Cultural Appropriation! This can't be a crime?

There aren't many things quite as annoying as a drunk social justice warrior out on the weekend. The video from Heat Street is just amazing. The Lyft driver did get fired for a few days, but they hired him back after seeing the abuse inflicted on him by this self appointed SJW Annaliese Nielsen (Ms. Nielsen is also dumber than a box of rocks).

Never miss an opportunity for a Rule 5 post and to annoy SJW, so I am engaging in some cultural appropriation from the "Continent of Hawaii" as Ms. Nielsen calls it. In addition to Hula dashboard statuary I am also throwing in some lamps too, because vintage hula lamps are awesome!

MR. TRUMP GOES TO MEXICO?

This is potentiallyYUGE for Donald Trump.

Is this a potential game changer? Of course it is, it puts Trump in a position where people are seeing him not only act presidential but actually do something presidential.  When you have lefty sites like PoliticusUSA calling it erratic and crazed, you know they fear such a trip.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: I defend your 1st Amendment right to be a chidey whiny scold...

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, just like you are entitled to your opinion, I am entitled to mine. If it is wrong to try to shut up Kaepernick, it is just as wrong to shut up those who disagree with him. Personally, I doubt the sincerity of Colin Kaepernick's protest.

EBL: Colin Kaepernick's Protest Does Not Stand

Kareem, I do not want to see innocent Americans (of any race) shot by the cops. It is rare and when you objectively look at the factsAfrican Americans are not killed by cops in unusually higher percentages than other races. Still, any police shooting that shouldn't happen is still a tragedy. There is also a perception that many blacks feel they are targeted more by cops.  Which reinforces the perception that targeting includes blacks being shot by the police.

I also acknowledge that relationships between many urban African American communities and the police are poor--which does not help solve the Black-On-Black violence in many of these communities. That definitely needs to be worked on--for the benefit of cops and those communities.

If Colin Kaepernick really does care about racism in America and the interaction of police and African Americans as he contends, put his money where is mouth it. Why doesn't he try to really improve the situation? Does sitting for the National Anthem help?

Sorry, but I suspect this protest is more to do with his mediocre play and his own personal insecurities and the high likelihood of being cut than a sudden political awakening. I suspect Kaepernick is posturing.

Colin Kaepernick is not standing end the end of this play, but he did hold onto the ball...

But I am biased, I can't stand the 49ers. From watching Colin Kaepernick's performance over the years, I have thought he is a head case who is not suited to be a premier quarter back in the NFL. I suspect, unless something changes dramatically, that Kaepernick's career in the NFL may not last too much longer. Maybe it is a coaching thing and he will benefit being on a different team. Then again, even Harbaugh who was one of Kaepernick's supporters, does not respect his protest.

I am, however, a huge 1st Amendment fan and supporter. I defend people to peacefully protest and Colin Kaepernick has that right. Even Jim Harbaugh (who I never liked either) and who was one of Kaepernick's biggest supporters, does not respect his protest.

Down and turn over

If Kaepernick has the right to express his views, the rest of us have the right to express ours. That is America.  I will defend Kaepernick's right to be a jackass and I defend my own right to call him out as one.
As for the NFL and its cowardly decision to not allow Dallas to support its fallen police officers--did I mention I am not a fan of Roger Goodell?  Goodell is is a coward.

Wombat: Proof Positive: Colin Kaepernick's new tattoo

RedState: Colin Kaepernick should stand up, but so should we

TOM: ISIS buried thousands in mass graves. Kareem Abdul Jabbar is Muslim. While I generally like Kareem's take on things, why doesn't he spend more time condemning such atrocities done in the name of his faith, such as ISIS?  I am sure he rejects it, but his criticism of that is rather mooted compared to him chiding us about criticizing Kaepernick.  He has brought up the KKK and the Crusades as examples of hypocrisy, or makes a rather strained connection on ISIS and Trump, but why not more focus on things happening now?

CNN was on board with Kaepernick until he had the temerity to go after Hillary Clinton! CNN can't support Kaepernick comparing Trump with Clinton.
Instapundit/Ed Driscoll: Clown Kaepernick and his Cop Pig Sucks (someone is begging to be cut), Colin Kaepernick: Oh by the way, Hillary should be in jail (at least he is consistent when it comes to the old sick drunk white lady)

So with Huma Abedin busy on the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton, things at home are hard for Anthony Weiner... Update: Huma's Out, Choose Hillary

If you haven't seen Weiner yet, put it on your Netflix queue. Democrat Anthony Weiner is quite the pathological mess. His wife is never home and he now spends all his time taking care of their child.  I get that is a problem for him (so get a divorce or learn to live with it). This is like compulsive anything (drugs, gambling, etc) where there is a need to take risks. For Weiner to keep engaging in this juvenile sexting, to the point his kid gets involved in it, shows just how out of control he is.

As far as the election goes, the bigger issue than Weiner's wiener is Huma Abedin's ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Huma is Hillary Clinton's confidant and primary assistant. That should give us all pause.

Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin's Mom Promote Anti Woman Book and Policies

Clinton invited the elder Abedin to participate in a State Department event for “leading thinkers” on women’s issues.
This happened despite evidence at the time that Saleha M. Abedin had explored the religious merits of sexual submissiveness, child marriage, lashings and stonings for adulterous women, and even the circumcision of girls.
The elder Abedin, whose daughter helps run Clinton’s presidential campaign, did take a pro-gender-equality stance on at least one issue: Muslim women’s right to participate in violent jihad alongside men.
And it is not like Huma Abedin did not have anything to do with the publication by Saleha Abedin. Huma Abedin worked there as an editor for years.

Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR)

Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is that pleasant tingly feeling that certain spoken sounds can cause. This ASMR youtube performer reenacts the death of Harambe the Gorilla.  It doesn't work for me, I get nothing from it (I am sympathetic to the death of Harambe, I get nothing from this particular video). But I have definitely experienced ASMR and it comes at unexpected times.

But now I am intrigued to go out and see if there are ASMR youtube clips that can cause the sensation for me.  Some say that Bob Ross (the painter) would trigger ASMR.  I never got that from Bob, but I did enjoy his television show very much and found it soothing.

Taylor Darling has an ASMR trigger video below but it does not work for me...

My quest continues.  These did not work for me either.  When it hits, it hits.  If anyone finds a ASMR that works for them, let me know.

The Night Of Finale (spoilers, fan theories)

What's With The Cat?: And it better be #5

Daily Caller: The Night Of Post Mortem (obviously spoilers)

Who killed Andrea Cornish

As HBO fictional crime miniseries go, The Night Of  (at least so far for me) is good but not as good as the first season of True Detective.  It is way better, however, than the second season of True Detective.  But it is not over yet, everything depends on The Night Of finale tonight.

While it has its improbable flaws (would a kid who's father was a cab driver not know how to turn off the on duty light) and strange subplots like John Stone's eczema, it does capture what the criminal justice system in New York is like for most people involved in it. Richard Price's influence (from The Wire) is apparent. If you have not seen the show or thought about how a few months stay in the Tombs would be waiting for a criminal trial, let's just say it is a world you don't want to be part of.

Sadly, because it is absolutely true in real life, the prosecutors, State experts, and detectives in the criminal justice system mostly (with a few exceptions) play out their roles without a lot of soul searching over what is right, instead more concerned with the risk of what is winnable.  While we know most defendants are probably guilty...not all of them are. it is a depressing reality which should give us more pause than John Turturro's character's allegorical scabby feet.

The actors do an excellent job portraying their roles (thanks to some deft writing, albeit flawed at points). The performances are nuanced and there is an interplay of underlying motivations between apparently disconnected actors that has not yet been revealed. That is what the finale is for.

I know in real life many crimes go unsolved and unexplained.  But in a fictional crime murder miniseries such as this, most of us want resolution, not ambiguity at the end.  How this effectively this turns out depends on the writers giving a clever ending, yet an ending till consistent with the clues dropped during the previous episodes. I am hopeful that happens at the end of this series tonight (otherwise The Night Of standing with True Detective Season 2 might shift in the wrong direction--which is saying a lot).

Amara Karan plays one of the defense counsel

More Spoilers/Plot Reveals below:

But is she doing this to save Naz, or is Naz doing this to save Naz?

I think we can safely rule out Naz's mom as the killer of Andrea

Here are the suspects (warning spoilers from the prior British series).  Some also throw in John Turturro's John Stone into the mix (that seems a stretch) and Detective Box (more than a stretch, or perhaps not...). 12 theories on who did it
