Was the late Cardinal O'Connor Catholic? Well yeah, but technically he was Jewish too!

I am going to guess Cardinal O'Connor's pal Ed Koch would have gotten a kick out of this...

I did not know this about Cardinal O'Connor (and apparently he did not either before he passed).

It is a mitzvah!

Of course, it is not like there haven't been Jewish Cardinals and Popes before.

For example:  The First Pope Peter was certainly Jewish
