Karl Rove makes his 2012 Presidential Election Prediction...

The Architect
Karl Rove:
My prediction: Sometime after the cock crows on the morning of Nov. 7, Mitt Romney will be declared America's 45th president. Let's call it 51%-48%, with Mr. Romney carrying at least 279 Electoral College votes, probably more.
But as a certain individual keeps reminding us:  Don't get cocky kid!

Barack Obama's inauguration minister: All Whites are going to Hell!

Mr. President:  "All white people are going to hell"?  This is bringing us together as a Nation?
All white people are going to hell, longtime African-American civil rights advocate Rev. Joseph Lowery told an audience at a get-out-the-vote event held Oct. 27 in Georgia.
Lowery, who gave the benediction at the January 2009 inauguration of President Barack Obama, told the audience of up to 300 African-Americans “that when he was a young militant, he used to say all white folks were going to hell. Then he mellowed and just said most of them were.
Now, he said, he is back to where he was,” according to an Oct. 31 report in the Monroe County Reporter newspaper.
And it is all whites.  Even if you are voting for Barack Obama!  I guess it also includes Obama's white Mom and Grandparents.  Is the media calling Rev. Joseph Lowery on these comments?  With the exception of a few on the right, of course not.

Is Wisconsin going Red? Is Obama losing Wisconsin?

Happy Halloween from Fauxcahontas!

What is the true story on the White House, the Department of Defense and Benghazi? What did the President know and when did he know it?

These are just rumors and should be reported as such.  Still, there are a lot of questions that are not being answered.   But you would think this would be clarified by now.  Why not?

We have the White House claiming it gave orders to support the besieged State Department personnel in Benghazi.  Yet President Obama refuses to release information that will confirm that.  We have Petraeus and the CIA saying it was not involved and gave no order to stand down.  So if an order was issued to the Department of Defense, why was no action taken?  There were certainly plenty of forces available, in relatively close proximity, either in Libya itself or in Italy/Sicily?  The battle raged for about seven hours.  Where was the AC 130 Spectre during the attack?  Apparently the SEALs were calling for it?

President Obama's explanations do not make sense.  What did the President know and when did he know it?  That the White House is stonewalling on this is pretty scary.

Alexrod gives a qualified wager to shave off his mustache...

Axelrod says he will shave that hairy thing off his face...
Even if it reminds him  of his heroes Stalin and Trotsky!
Note Axelrod did not say he would do it if Barack Obama lost the general election!   Axelrod will shave off that lip rat of his only if Obama loses Michigan, Minnesota, or Pennsylvania.  Joe Scarborough agreed he would grow a mustache if Obama wins North Carolina or Florida.  If Team Obama is so confident on Ohio and the General Election, why would Alexrod leave Ohio and the general election out of his wager?  I though the latest polls were soooo strong for Team Obama.

Of course Politico has to add this editorial comment: "Polls indicate Axelrod’s upper lip might be safer than Scarborough’s."  Really Politico, who do you think you guys are, Nate Silver?  Go back to camp following...

The press trailing both the campaigns...

Maybe the press should adopt what the NFL cheerleaders did and done Halloween costumes.  I would suggest they all be hookers.

With these new polls coming out of Ohio, Virginia and Florida, Stacy McCain suggests maybe the press (say the New York Times) could ask the polling company about the skewed Democrat numbers in the polling samples.  You don't think there could be some shenanigans going on, do you?

Yeti Bigfoot Sasquatch is for real?

I am not buying it...especially after Peckergate.
Then again, perhaps those Russians got a sample of Michael Moore's hair?
I am sure this Yeti is as real as this Bigfoot/Sasquatch.

Michael Moore helps motivate the Republican Party

Thanks Michael Moore for motivating me with your silly video (NSFW)!  Motivate me that is to send some money to the GOP candidates!

Although I personally like this Michael Moore video below far more (which is perfectly safe for all venues).  And I want to hear people saying President Romney!

Separated at Birth: Nate Silver and...?

So is NYT Nate Silver separated at birth from:  A Gypsy Fortune teller or Moneyball Oakland A's manager and saber-metric proponent Billy Beane?

Nate Silver separated at birth from:
Billy Beane?
A Gypsy fortune teller?

So is Nate Silver's model a fraud or the real deal?  He did well in 2008 and 2010.  We will find out for sure November 6.  But as Stacy McCain at The Other McCain notes, Nate's numbers are not quite lining up:
Liberals may be stupid, but they’re not so stupid they can’t understand what John Nolte’s headline means:
GALLUP: Romney Up 52-45% Among Early Voters Dude. If Romney’s leading by SEVEN FREAKING POINTS in the early vote — and also leading by six points among voters who tell Gallup they plan to vote on Election Day, Nov. 6 — there is no way that Nate Silver can continue gazing at his Magic Forecasting Model™ and seeing a 72.9% chance of Obama being re-elected. He may continue telling that to his readers, but Nate cannot actually believe that.

Looks like a draw on early voting!   Nate has that working for him.

The issue is whether Nate is really trying to predict the outcome (whether his model is correct or not in doing so is another issue to be determined) or whether Nate is trying to influence the outcome (which would be unethical).

Dan McLaughlin at Red State has a great article:
We can’t know until Election Day who is right. I stand by my view that Obama is losing independent voters decisively, because the national and state polls both support that thesis. I stand by my view thatRepublican turnout will be up significantly from recent-historic lows in 2008 in the key swing states (Ohio, Wisconsin, Colorado) and nationally, because the post-2008 elections, the party registration data, the early-voting and absentee-ballot numbers, and the Rasmussen and Gallup national party-ID surveys (both of which have solid track records) all point to this conclusion. I stand by my view that no countervailing evidence outside of poll samples shows a similar surge above 2008 levels in Democratic voter turnout, as would be needed to offset Romney’s advantage with independents and increased GOP voter turnout. And I stand by the view that a mechanical reading of polling averages is an inadequate basis to project an event unprecedented in American history: the re-election of a sitting president without a clear-cut victory in the national popular vote.Perhaps, despite the paucity of evidence to the contrary, these assumptions are wrong. But if they are correct, no mathematical model can provide a convincing explanation of how Obama is going to win re-election. He remains toast.
Is Nate Silver's Value at Risk?

Photo of the sinking sailing ship Bounty...

The end of the Bounty...
The crew member who died was a Fletcher Christian descendant   The Captain is missing and presumed dead.  RIP

The story of the real Bounty (the ship that just went down was a replica) is an interesting story of human psychology and morality   Captain Bligh, by the standards of the day, while a difficult senior officer was not the monster depicted in popular culture.  The mutineers were mostly wrong and ended up escaping but not having a happy ending on Pitcairn Island.  While Captain Bligh's  survival in the life boat is one of the most amazing stories of seamanship and survival ever recorded.
Bligh's brilliance as a navigator was confirmed after the mutiny. Most stories and movies ignore Bligh and his loyal crewmen after the Bounty sails over the horizon. What Bligh did next is still considered a legendary feat of seamanship. He directed a voyage of over 3,600 miles in a small, overloaded open boat with no maps or compass, arriving at the island of Timor in 47 days. One man was killed when the boat's crew came under attack, but none was lost to starvation or disease.
The attack was Fijian cannibals that tried to kill Bligh and the survivors.

President Obama refuses to release information on the Benghazi attack: What did the President know and when did he know it?

President Obama is getting defensive and peevish.

Retired Admiral James Lyons demands full disclosure on Benghazi.

Father of slain SEAL Tyrone Woods, Charles Woods comments:
“My question of the president would be this: Your Honor, I respect your office as president. But if this attack on American citizens, on American soil, happened 2,000 miles away from Washington, D.C. — say in Los Angeles or in Seattle — would you have waited seven hours before you sent the first airplane? Would you have waited seven hours until the attack was over? Would you have waited a couple of days until you had all of the videos and all the information before you responded in a responsible military way?” … “This is about honor, courage and about love for America. And remember this, Mr. President: My son and the others died heroes and it’s better to die the death of a hero than it is to live the life of a coward. If you are responsible for the death of my son, I forgive you, I love you. I also love America.”
I agree with Serr8d, this should be President Obama's Waterloo.

I was not blogging when Bob Ross passed.  But I was a fan. Google is noting Bob Ross' 70th birthday. I know art critics have a dim view of his work, but the man had a joy in painting that was infectious. I loved his show. Ross was a retired Air Force veteran and had an interesting life. We lost him too soon.  RIP Bob.

Dan Collins asks: Benghazi: “Where the *blank* is Spectre?”

Damn good question.  There were AC 130 Spectres in and around Libya.
Where were the AC 130s in and around Libya at the time of the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attack?
So where were they?  Team Obama is completely silent on the subject.
