Mad Men Season five, Episode two: Betty Draper Francis is fat and Sterling Cooper hires a Jew!

Fat Betty Draper:  Why do we care?
Season five, episode two.  One of the story lines of Mad Men tonight is Betty Francis Draper gaining weight only to find she has a tumor on her thyroid.  I thought they were writing around her real life pregnancy, but apparently not (she looks great after having her first child).  There is also a brief Romney reference by Henry Francis.

Betty Draper looked like Victoria Jackson?  

Don and Harry try to sign the Rolling Stones to do a Heinz TV ad.

Oh, Sterling Cooper also hires a Jewish copywriter.  Mazel Tov!

    That Romney dig was totally gratuitous.

    I like the new character--as I remarked on Twitter, maybe he will bring a little Bill Gaines humor to the show. On second thought, make that Mort Sahl humor.

    Me and the wife strongly disagree on January Jones--she's fan while I'm not. But we both love Don's new wife. I disagree with everyone about her being a keeper.
