Franken, Conyers and Moore

You have John Conyers (D-MI) showing up to meetings with women in his underwear and Al Franken (D-MN) accused of groping at least four women. Yes, the Pervnado on the left is helping Roy Moore. There are also growing doubts about some of Moore's more serious accusers.

I have heard a few "conservative" NeverTrumper pundits still going after Moore. You made your point--so why are you still doing it?  The two most serious accusations against Moore are bad, but they also may not be true (and they are denied by Moore). Given the choice is Moore drops out (and basically concedes the seat to the Democrat challenger) which Moore has said he is not going to do, shouldn't this choice go to Alabama voters to decide?  Maybe the WaPo was a little too cute with the timing of all of this?

Update:

Patterico does some pontificating over at RedState. While I concur if Roy Moore did the two most serious allegations against him, he should not be in politics. Moore refutes the accusations and there their are some serious doubts about the Corfman and Allred's client's allegations

Patterico does typical Patterico by setting it up as a hypothetical that you know that Moore is guilty, but you vote for him anyway. It is a false premise. I believe Moore dated 17 year old girls in his early thirties. I doubt the more serious accusations because they are inconsistent with the other girls statements about how Moore behaved, there are serious inconsistencies with their stories, and the timing of all of this is suspicious as hell.  If Moore was such a monster, why not take him out in the primaries?

As for Patterico trying to argue conservatives who support Moore are selling their souls, why? Is Doug Jones such a clear moral choice over Moore or should Republicans just stay home and let Jones win that way? As for this huge wave that is supposedly coming in 2018, even if that is inevitable (which I do not believe), doesn't that make keeping this seat even more imperative for Republicans?  And if this seat is lost to the Democrats, is Patterico arguing the wave will not come?

RedState and Patterico were solidly NeverTrump. I get the feeling they, along with Kristol and McMuffin, would love to see a loss of House and Senate (and Trump's impeachment to boot) just so they could say I told you so.

This is not just a case of media distrust, but for many a cold, logical risk assessment. I do not live in Alabama, but if I did, I would have to consider the risks of electing Moore over the risks of electing Jones. In the case of Moore, I have no fear that his election will in any way affect either public policy or sentiment concerning adult men hitting on teenage girls in malls, while the election Jones would very clearly entail a risk to the Trump legislative agenda and a possible risk of furthering the DNC agenda. Frankly speaking, I believe what happens legislatively in the Senate during the next two to six years is of infinitely greater importance to my daughters' futures than what Moore individually may or may not have done forty years ago.
RedState: Even NeverTrumper Joe Cunningham can't support Doug Jones

John "Captain Underpants" Conyers (D-MI), it's a Beltway thing
