The Mystery of ISIS and Obama's Foreign Policy Legacy

This is an interesting article on the birth and changes of ISIS over the last 15 years. But it fails to address (at all) President Obama's control and decision making for the past seven years and how the Obama Administration lost Iraq, Syria and Libya

And we are going to trust Barack Obama to cut a nuclear deal with Iran?

So I am going to take a guess "Anonymous" who wrote the "Mystery of ISIS" article above might be someone currently in government sympathetic to the current administration.

At the core of Obama’s thinking is that American military involvement cannot be the primary instrument to achieve the new equilibrium that the region so desperately needs. And yet thoughts of a pacific equilibrium are far from anyone’s mind in the real, existing Middle East. In the 2012 campaign, Obama spoke not only of killing Osama bin Laden; he also said that Al Qaeda had been “decimated.” I pointed out that the flag of Al Qaeda is now flying in Falluja, in Iraq, and among various rebel factions in Syria; Al Qaeda has asserted a presence in parts of Africa, too.
“The analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a jayvee team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant,” Obama said, resorting to an uncharacteristically flip analogy. “I think there is a distinction between the capacity and reach of a bin Laden and a network that is actively planning major terrorist plots against the homeland versus jihadists who are engaged in various local power struggles and disputes, often sectarian.

Adam Ezra Group: The Devil Came Up To Boston

It is a wee bit early for St. Patrick's Day, I can't stand Massachusetts leftist politics, Fauxahontas (I mean the fake Indian Senator), or Tom Brady and the Patriots, but not everything from there is bad (language NSFW).

Alfred Hitchcock's Notorious

With Hillary Clinton's espionage problems, a great movie to go with is Alfred Hitchcock's Notorious.

Hillary Clinton is especially chilling in it as Claude Rains's character's mother, Madame Sebastian!

Frank Sinatra's Come Fly With Me Rule 5

Mark Steyn this week has Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen's Come Fly With Me as his Sinatra song of the century this week.  Mark references Meghan's Trainer's comments on this song. This is definitely a song that needs more than one post...

Pundette has another indescribably good Cahn/Van Heusen song this week at #34 on her list and Bob Belvedere has the 1957 Come Fly With Me at #62 on his and Cahn/Van Heusen's Tender Trap at #17. And last week I did have Cahn/Styne's Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out To Dry and previously had Burke/Van Heusen's Polka Dots and Moonbeams.

Come Fly With Me is a Sinatra song that cries out for an appropriate Rule 5 post!
